Sam Simon Co-Creator of The Simpsons has Died

Sad news today that talented writer & co-creator of The Simpsons, Sam Simon has died at his home in Los Angeles from his battle with colon cancer; aged 59.

Sam's Nine-time Emmy winning career spanned four decades as a writer on popular sitcoms Taxi, Cheers and It’s Garry Shandling’s Show before becoming co-creator on the animated series The Simpsons.

As a devoted animal lover, Sam became a philanthropist creating the Sam Simon Foundation, which rescued dogs, funded a traveling animal surgery clinic for ailing pets & their owners could not afford medical attention and also provided vegan food for hungry humans. Sam also supported PETA, which named its Norfolk, Va., HQ the Sam Simon Centre; Save the Children; and the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society, a global marine conservation organisation which named one of its vessels after him.

The Sam Simon Foundation has urged mourners to donate to the foundation which you can do HERE, rather than the usual tokens of tribute such as flowers & gifts.

The fond memories from Sam's body of work will live on through his talents as a writer, creator & philanthropist. Our condolences are with Sam's family, friends & colleges at this time of lose.
